Quick answer: Retail sugar bags are not how export parcels move. Wholesale refined sugar from Thailand is packed for container transport and industrial receiving.
The most common retail-adjacent export pack is the 50 kg polypropylene bag, palletised or stuffed according to the contract. Marks on the bag should identify product, origin, and lot as agreed.
Jumbo bags (FIBCs) are used when the receiver can handle bulk bags, often 1,000 kg class. They reduce bag count but need the right forklift and discharge equipment.
Minimum order quantity is a commercial term, not a laboratory grade. Exporters usually think in metric tons or full containers. State your target quantity in tons and whether you can take a full container.
Do not leave packing implied. A quote for “sugar” without bag size, liner, and stuffing method is incomplete. Damage and shortage claims often start with unclear packing.
Moisture protection matters in tropical load ports. Contracts should say how bags are protected inside the container and whether desiccant or lining is required.
When you enquire with UFI, include packing preference, monthly or shipment tons, and destination. Sales can then align mill packing with your warehouse.
