Quick answer: Food and beverage manufacturers specify ICUMSA 45 when they need a highly refined white cane sugar that will not add unwanted colour to a light product.
Typical users include soft-drink bottlers, confectioners, dairy and bakery plants, and ingredient blenders who already have an ICUMSA 45 line on their raw-material list.
The grade is a colour target, not a recipe. Your process still needs the correct grain size, dissolving behaviour, and packing that your silo or bag dump can handle.
Write the RFQ like a materials specification: ICUMSA 45, quantity per month or per container, 50 kg or jumbo packing, destination port, and Incoterm. Add any extra limits your QA team requires.
Do not substitute a higher ICUMSA number without a plant trial. A darker crystal can shift beverage colour or fondant appearance even when sweetness is similar.
Lead time depends on mill production, packing, and vessel space. Give a target shipment month, not only “ASAP”, so the exporter can plan against real availability.
